Ever felt in need of a speaker that could provide you with a rousing soundtrack while out on adventures? If so, then Bang & Olufsen has the perfect product for you.
Launched at the end of April, the Beoplay A1 is the smallest portable speaker offered by the Danish technology firm and is aimed at intrepid music lovers. Explaining the concept behind the new device, Henrik Taudorf Lorensen, corporate VP of B&O Play, states that customers nowadays ‘want their speaker to deliver a rich and beautiful soundscape for their home as well as seamless portability for life on the go’.
The Beoplay A1 has been created in collaboration with industrial designer Cecilie Manz, regarded as one of Denmark’s leading design figures after winning the Danish Crown Prince Couple’s Culture award in September 2014. The designer also has previous experience working with B&O Play – collaborating with the tech company in 2014 on the Beoplay A2 and in 2015 on the Beolit 15.
Designed to be as minimal as possible, the Beoplay A1 purposely includes no buttons or protruding attachments in order to make it a sturdy and long-lasting piece of equipment. The new speaker even comes with a soft leather strap, which the company hopes will invite owners to ‘carry it everywhere, attach it to a rucksack on the go, or to hang it anywhere in your home’.
Factoring a guaranteed 24 hours of portable playtime, customers will doubtless be making all the right noises about the Beoplay A1.
