S(o)uperfoods: Soupologie reveals a range of hybrid raw soups
Although funky flavour combinations like beetroot and mint or watermelon and chili aren’t exactly reminiscent of hearty, wintery comfort food, they do happen to comprise part of Soupologie’s newest launch.
Discovering a talent for making soups while cooking for his family accountant, Stephen Argent took his creations to market stalls all over London, cultivating an audience delighted with his home-cooked recipes. He sought funding for his passion project through Crowdcube and finally launched Soupologie in 2012, supplying the nation’s health-conscious foodies with no-nonsense vitamins ever since.
This year, Argent’s company has taken the raw-food trend under the arm for their newest range: the UK’s first raw soups. Designed to ’revolutionise the way we eat soup’, the line is best described as a soup-smoothie hybrid. They are made from scratch with entirely plant-based ingredients; dairy and gluten free, containing no added sugars or corn flour, they are instead full of protein and super-ingredients like spirulina, amaranth and black garlic.
The chilled vegan soups are refreshing and revitalising, ready to be sipped straight from the bottle for lunch, a snack or as a post-gym pick-me-up.
