Full of spirit: experimental drink collective publishes second tome titled Silent Neon Flowers
Tony Conigliaro has never been your average barman. To complement his work developing cocktail menus for London's 69 Colebrooke Row, Zetter Town House bar, and Grain Store, he set up the Drink Factory, a laboratory and research collective experimenting in flavour.
Added to this is the publication by the team of a beautiful annual, a poetic exploration in words and pictures of their current inspirations. Launching this week is the second edition, entitled Silent Neon Flowers, which plays with the visual representation of flavour on the theme of flowers.
The deeper concept is 'silent flavour' and arresting botanical photography by Addie Chin, Ollie Harrop and Ruth Vatcher plays with the idea. The last pages of the journal detail the recipes which link to the visuals, giving some insight into the processes and methods of the Drink Factory lab.
