Sonique Bar, São Paulo

There's a New York whiff about the bohemian, funky neighbourhood of Baixo Augusta, in São Paulo - the new Sonique Bar instantly reminds you of Manhattan's Meatpacking District warehouses.

The project is signed by acclaimed Franco-Brazilian clan Tryptique and features a Brutalist style, very much in vogue in the 1950s and 1960s: modernist façade; interiors exposing the crude, structural elements of construction, and custom-made design furniture in a modular configuration.

'Sonique' refers to the speed of sound, the forms of sound communication, and the desire to interact. And it is with this in mind that its concept is so eclectic. Sonique can be a lounge, a restaurant, an art gallery (audiovisual performances and modern art exhibitions) or a dance club, depending on the night or the mood of the clientele.

A unique concierge service offers tickets for shows, movies, exhibitions, clubs and can make restaurants reservations.
