Wines from the slopes of Mount Etna join biodynamic varieties from the Greek island of Santorini at Compagnie des Vins Surnaturels, the new wine bar that shares its name with a sister site in Paris’ Saint-Germain. The intimate space is located in London’s Covent Garden and is the latest outpost from the team behind the Experimental Cocktail Clubs and the Curio Parlor. More than 400 bottles of season-appropriate wine - curated by Julia Oudill and Nic Smith - push wine from smaller, more unusual vineyards, such as Riesling varieties from Egon Müller. As in their other bars, local food is incorporated into the menu, with dishes like truffled ham and toasted sourdough and baby squid with roasted red peppers accompanying the wines.
