by Fredrikson Stallard, sponsored by Jaguar, inspired by Jaguar Design
Design duo Fredrikson Stallard have created 'Diptych: Landscape II', an interpretation of abstract lines and proportions based on their experience driving the Jaguar F-Type. The two-part installation, made from aluminium, wood, polyurethane and polyester, creates solid landscapes as statements of the connections between man, car and the surrounding environment. Positioned side by side, Landscape II forms a diptych with both elements interconnected by the advanced forms running through and between the two very individual pieces, reflecting journey experiences and the artists' personal relationship between their surroundings and their work.
Patrik Fredrikson from Sweden and Ian Stallard from the UK met while students at Central Saint Martins and formed Fredrikson Stallard in 2005, based in London. Heralded as pioneers of a new wave of Avant-Garde, the duo bring a sculptural approach to design, creating sensuous and technically rigorous furniture and objects. Their clients include David Gill Galleries, Swarovski, Oscar de la Renta, MoMA and Paul Smith, to name just a few.
Jaguar is an iconic British brand with a rich heritage and powerful consumer appeal and loyalty. Every Jaguar product embodies three brand values: seductive design, innovative technology and sporting performance. Today's Jaguar line-up consists of the XJ luxury sedan, XF sports sedan, the XK coupé and convertible sports cars and the new Jaguar F-Type. The F-Type represents a return to the company's heartland: a two-seater, convertible sports car focused on performance, agility and driver involvement. It is a continuation of a sporting bloodline that stretches back more than 75 years and encompasses some of the most beautiful, thrilling and desirable cars ever built.
