Tomas Maier’s bookcase for Bottega Veneta won our 'best library' accolade in our 2008 Design Awards and hence we were excited when he decided to open a second retail store last autumn in Palm Beach, Florida - decorated and furnished by the man himself.
The stylishly eclectic 2,000 square foot space was designed by Maier to feel beachy and worn. The site has a solid design pedigree: it is located in the former offices of architect Addison Mizner, who designed the building in the early 1920s and used the storefronts as studios in which to manufacture furniture and fixtures for homes he was building on the island.
The new shop will showcase Maier's own collection of brands as well as a variety of home and lifestyle items such as perfumes, candles, music and films.
