Business amenities: Most of the hotel’s recent ‘refreshening’ was aimed at adding business features to rooms and public spaces (pictured is the lobby). Each room has a new stereo system and 42in flatscreen television. There’s a multilingual concierge; personalised business cards; free Wi-Fi; direct-dial phones; and free printing and copying. A complimentary in-town Lexus sedan service is available.
Rooms: Set in a 1903 building, the 60 rooms and suites feature Italian-inspired décor in a palette of taupe, coffee and cream; each has a fireplace, an in-room entertainment system and a private bar. The canopy or four-poster beds are made up with Frette linens, and all rooms have opening windows. The one- and two-bedroom suites each has a ‘parlour’with a meeting table for ten.
Leisure: There is a small fitness room on site and guests also have access to the Fitcorp Health Club across the street for a $15 daily fee. There’s no spa but massages can be arranged in-room. The hotel is within blocks of Boston Common and Charles River jogging trails and bike paths.
Restaurants: The signature restaurant is Mooo, a modern steakhouse with a private dining room (the Wine Cellar,seating up to 40) for dinner meetings. The 24-hour room service comes with the complete Mooo menu.
