Perched on serene Mokapu Beach, the Andaz Maui at Wailea is the first resort from Hyatt's boutique brand. Designed by Shawn Sullivan of the Rockwell Group, the property opens with a dazzling entry bridge of African mahogany and Italian Ambrato marble over an infinity-edge pool, leading into a reception area with alluring Pacific views. The 297 rooms and suites are decorated in a palette of pale neutrals, while seven multi-bedroom villas feature furniture by Italian label Gervasoni and London-based Ochre and Domus Design Collection. The Morimoto Maui restaurant, run by chef Masaharu Morimoto, has a Japanese menu infusing local ingredients. A more casual café, Ka'ana Kitchen, serves up local island fare. Two poolside lounges offer hand-crafted cocktails by New York mixologist Julie Reiner, along with smaller bites.
