QT — Canberra, Australia
The fifth addition to Australia's flourishing QT hotel brand takes its cues from the capital's cultural and political character. Its location, the former Rydges Landmark hotel in the emerging precinct of New Acton, has been transformed inside and out by designer Nic Graham, who gave it a vibrant energy. The hotel's 205 rooms (including the two-bedroom QT State Suite, with views over Canberra) feature bespoke furniture, one-of-a-kind artwork and bold designer finishes. A number of secret retreats are stashed throughout the hotel, including the speakeasy-style bar Lucky's, which pays homage to a history of backroom deals and liquid lunches. Look for detailing like bespoke wallpaper featuring the images of past prime ministers.
