Inspired by 1920s Paris and the illicit world of peepshows, Le Peep is a dramatic synchronisation of a restaurant, bar and nightclub, all located on the ground floor and basement of Park Lane’s Marriott Hotel. Styled as a street, with each adjoining space representing a shop, the venue is lined with a labyrinthine series of cannily named rooms and spaces — such as Salon Rouge to the Paper Theatre — in which music events and live shows take place. The custom leather banquettes, bespoke illustrated wallpapers and baroque mouldings were brought together by Nick Leith-Smith Architects, and serve as a theatrical and explosive backdrop to the centrepiece: a staircase styled on a mirrored birdcage, featuring elaborate ironwork that marks the transition between the two floors.
