Once a neglected drug-den, 120 Mapledean road was a prime candidate for an architectural overhaul. Taken on by East London architectural firm Platform 5, the unremarkable Victorian terrace house has been transformed into an open, airy family home. Removing the interior walls on the ground floor, Platform 5 have allowed light to run through the building, directed artfully from the glass covered sun wall, which leads into the garden. Light is a key theme throughout, with a moveable glass roof set elegantly above the kitchen.%A
