Dream Hotel — Tampere, Finland

No doubt bolstered by the success of his first property Dream Hostel, hospitality entrepreneur Ville Virkki has now extended the lodging's premises with an additional floor, to create a boutique hotel. Located in the Finnish city of Tampere, the industrial building has been transformed by Helsinki architecture collective Studio Puisto, who have designed 20 en-suite double and twin rooms that slot compactly around an intelligent series of communal areas and corridors including a kitchen and meeting rooms intended for socialising. A sense of snugness is lent to the neutral design with timber strips, hanging basket seats and potted plants, while soft furnishings in turquoise and green tones provide visual contrast and reference the abundant waterways and pristine forests surrounding the city.
