London Design Festival 2017 preview
Summer may be winding down in London, but things in the British capital are just hotting up. The London Design Festival (16-24 September) is set to kick off this week, with galleries, museums and studios in all corners of the metropolis poised for action. This year – in addition to popular staples like the Landmark projects and V&A installations – the festival is upping the ante, introducing Mayfair as the newest bustling design hub, as well as the inaugural Design Frontiers exhibition at Somerset House. From Shoreditch’s hidden pockets to Chelsea’s well-heeled design district, we’ve mapped out the top 20 exhibitions, installations and events not to be missed...

Matteo Cibic’s conceptual works are coming to play at Seeds Gallery. The Italian designer’s latest body of work was inspired by humanist creatives – biologist Ernst Haeckel and artist Luigi Serafini to name a few. The exhibition sees a mixture of paper, ceramics, fur and digital elements realised in anthropomorphic forms, touching on notions of evolution and existence.
