Kiosk cool
31 January
Earlier this week Copenhagen Fashion Week announced a new sustainability initiative, requiring its showing brands to adhere to 17 eco standards by 2023. Schedule stalwart Ganni has long championed environmental awareness, a viewpoint which shone through at its A/W 2020 show, which featured fabrics including reused wool and organic cotton. The concept of a circular economy is also prominent at its Ganni Kiosk – a pop-up shop open until Feb 1 – which boasts a curated and kaleidoscopic range of upcycled lifestyle and fashion pieces, including reworked Artek stools, hand-painted recycled boots by Marie Lea Lund and hand-knitted tops, dresses and hats by Lulu Kaalund. ‘For the 2020 Kiosk, I’ve asked super talented female creatives I adore to set the tone for the new decade,’ says Ditte Reffstrup, Ganni’s creative director. They’ve used fabrics from collections gone by and playful upcycling techniques to create truly one-of-a-kind custom pieces that give a fresh energy.’

Go to extremes
29 January
First launched in 1988, the North Face’s Extreme collection has been an irreplaceable staple in their dare-devil clientele’s free-skiing wardrobes. The bright and bold colour scheme of the newest rendition – which borrows inspiration from both the original and 1990s version – gives us the adrenaline shot that we so desperately desire. Bringing their high-performance wear away from the wilderness and into the asphalt jungle, the North Face manages to give us urbanites a streetwear version of their iconic designs that reads as both functional and fashionable. Their take on athleisure (and their audacious attitude) is something we plan to whole-heartedly embrace for S/S 2020.

Going XL

The supersize bag was a stalwart on the S/S 2020 catwalks - just look to Hermès, Bottega Veneta and Nanushka. German label and Wallpaper Design Awards 2019 winners Tsatsas has also bought a soft, souped up touch to its minimalist accessories designs, with the launch of its Lato style - a lightweight leather bag with an engulfing strap which nestles around the body. It’s a luxurious option for an everyday shopper, allowing you to elevate your style on-the-go, and tap into S/S 2020’s most talk about accessories trend.

Dye hard design
24 January
As sticklers for detail, we love geeking out over C.P. Company’s innovative colouration approaches, after all the Italian urban sportswear label invented the garment dyeing technique, which came to performance-wear prevalence in the mid 1970s. Now the fabrication experts have launched P.Ri.S.M, a capsule collection of jackets, a vest, cargo pants and sweatshirts which incorporate an exclusive fabric formed from a combination of dyeable and semi-dyeable two-tone ripstop and a polyurethane membrane. The combination of materials creates an iridescent effect, which we’ll be obsessing over for months to come.

La Dolce Vita

Our sartorial style this season takes on a sophisticated flair as Reiss launches its menswear suiting capsule the ‘Italian Fabric Collection’. With a continental allure, the 13 pieces promise lazy afternoons at the local coffee shop, sipping double espressos and nibbling on biscotti. Made with attention on craftsmanship in Italian mills, the fabric itself is a testament to the brand’s trademark timeless design and focus on quality. The carefully curated collection creates the perfect capsule wardrobe with a muted colour scheme of neutrals and great attention to fit. We can’t wait to follow Marie Kondo’s advice and declutter our drawers to make room for these new basics – which we guarantee will spark joy!
