Canali A/W 2014
Canali is in the business of serious suits; beautifully made, impeccably cut garments destined for sartorial aficionados. For Winter there was plenty to tempt that very customer into adding a new corner section to their already immaculate closets. Mismatched, but colour coordinated suit pieces - cropped slim jackets and cropped pants - were offered in every good looking refraction of the rainbow, from dusty pastel velvets and dense corduroys to softly coloured wools. The coordination possibilities were endless with these buttery, delicious fabrics, but Canali didn't stop there. Outerwear made an important play with mammoth wooly bathrobe coats and rugged looking jackets. The mohair sweater coats, meanwhile, were cut into roomy double-breasted cabans and featured blurry stencil printing over their lovely matted surfaces. Photography: Anna Stokland/Jason Lloyd-Evans
