Le Gramme’s minimalist designs make for timeless men’s jewellery
Le Gramme’s new additions to the ‘Cable’ collection play with intricate engravings
French men’s jewellery brand Le Gramme brings an architectural sensibility to classic jewellery design with a focus on simple geometric shapes and clean, minimalist forms. It is a philosophy carried through to the latest additions to 2018’s ‘Cable’ collection, where a new engraved cable plays on a juxtaposition of angles.
‘Since 2018, the cable bracelet has been a bestseller,’ says Le Gramme CEO and jewellery designer Erwan Le Louër. ‘Since then, we have continued to explore variations on this idea of a cable closed with a silver, gold or ceramic cylinder. It is now also available entirely paved with diamonds. The “Cable” collection alone embodies the whole DNA of Le Gramme: pure, minimalist, graphic and timeless.

‘With this engraved cable we continue to have fun trying new designs on the clasp,’ he continues. ‘Laser engraving has become a very common process on all our collections over the years, especially in the personalisation of jewellery. It is thus quite natural that we came to engrave our cable clasp.’
Horizontal or diagonal accents make for hypnotising patterns inspired by the abstract work of French artist François Morellet, while also nodding to the voluminous lines in the modernist buildings of French architect and designer Robert Mallet-Stevens. ‘The engraved cable, like all other cable bracelets, requires great precision in the manufacture of the screwed clasp,’ adds Le Louër of the challenges the team faced.
‘The two parts must arrive perfectly aligned to form the logo. We are very happy to be able to ensure the fully French manufacturing of our cable bracelets, and all our jewellery for that matter. The sense of detail is the number one priority at Le Gramme. All our objects, all our jewels are [considered] in the slightest detail. With this new engraved cable we wanted to show once again that a jewel can be both beautiful, pure and resolutely functional.’
