Philipp Plein doesn’t do catwalk shows by halves. The extravagant German designer has created gritty sets populated with wrecked cars, fashioned a runway space boasting an Olympic-size swimming pool and even erected a boxing ring for his band of sports-luxe fighters.

For A/W 2018, the designer had more interstellar intentions. Working in collaboration with Villa Eugénie, Plein created a set at the Duggal Greenhouse in Brooklyn, lined with fake snow. Sat high above this lunar snowscape was a giant UFO, which descended to the catwalk as the show began, beaming rays of light across the frosty ground. At the shows climax, a giant Plein branded robot appeared on the catwalk, a futuristic protector of planet Plein.
