C Ellet’s — Atlanta, USA
Atlanta has yet to win a Michelin star, but this year 15 semi-finalists in the James Beard Awards were located here, so it’s certainly a sprawl to watch. Set to make an impact is C Ellet’s, a modern steakhouse and oyster bar from chef and sommelier couple Linton and Gina Hopkins.
Designed by Square Feet Studio, with key pieces such as the whimsical ceiling mural by Maeve Harris chosen by Gina, the space is vast and stunning. Old wood floors, soft grey marble, Venetian-style plaster walls and brass-accented zinc create a sumptuous backdrop for custom-made cabinetry by Skylar Morgan Furniture + Design and a smooth, split aspect ash wood table by Atlanta-based designers Subeau. An orb chandelier by Gabriel Scott hangs over the chef’s table, where several times James Beard award-winner Linton prepares a vast selection of cuts from across America.
Highlights of the menu include Nebraska tomahawk ribeye, Texas Denver steak, Kansas dry-aged porterhouse and Iowa cowgirl ribeye, prepared using fire, iron and steel.
