La Plage Casadelmar — Corsica, France
Following on from the successful Hotel Casadelmar is La Plage Casadelmar, a subtler, more tranquil property sited just across the water in Porto-Vecchio. Facing a private strip of beach, the hotel offers panoramic views of the bay and beyond. The elegant lodgings, comprising only 15 guest rooms and suites, were designed by Jean-François Bodin, who has used muted tones, peppered with vibrant spots of colour. Food is simple, casual, market-inspired Mediterranean fare, and diners get access to the heated pool. For the more adventurous, there's a menu of activities like hiking, jet skiing, scuba diving and windsurfing.
