Salone del Mobile 2016 preview
The design calendar’s most significant event is fast approaching. Assembling in Milan, devotees will be prepping to take on the city for the annual Salone del Mobile (12-17 April), marking the unofficial start to the design season. The ever-growing affair spreads itself over the Italian metropolis from pockets of Brera district travelling all the way to the Rho fairground with the vast installations, new releases and parties getting even more avant-garde and innovative each year. Vintage clothing and furniture expert Chichi Meroni is teaming up with Belgian artist Isabelle de Borchgrave to host a meeting of art, fashion and design. The ultimate celebration of art nouveau, the exhibition, hosted at Meroni's L'Arabesque, will feature new furniture and art pieces by de Borchgrave along with a series of deco pieces unearthed by Merino. Expect colour, glasswork and glamour.
