Doggy style: the most stylish dogs of Instagram
They take over our homes and decimate our social schedules; they chew our shoes and pee on our models (see W*194)... As if that wasn't enough, they are taking over our Instagram feeds too. Dogs, that is. Long gone are the days when they were merely pets, guardians and companions. Now they are models, spokes-paws and celebrities too; cuddly personalities incapable of causing harm or offence. There is no end to the list of talents and accomplishments of the modern day pooch. Paying tribute to our furry friends - and inspired by the wee man from the May 2015 Wallpaper* cover himself - we round up the most stylish hounds of Instagram...
Neville Jacobs. The doggy darling of the fashion industry, this famous chap is more than just a name; he is a (very handsome) Bull Terrier. Owned by fashion designer Marc Jacobs, Neville's Instagram account boasts model friends - Christy Turlington, Cara Delevingne and Kendall Jenner, to name but a few - and over 125k followers, all his own. Walking proof that beauty, brains and brawn can coexist in one (very sweet) being.

Choo Choo Charlies. Don't let the cutesy name fool you - this French Bulldog is as cool as they come. Part of Neville Jacobs' puppy entourage, he is more often than not found sleeping. His preferred mode of transport is in a designer doggy tote - particularly in the winter months when the New York weather is at its worst. Modelling the latest trends and being carried around: all in a day's work. (His sister, Bowie, is quite delightful too.)

Digby Van Winkle. These New Zealand-based pups (Brussels Griffons to you) love to cuddle and dress up. What could be better? The fact they aren't your typical cutesy dogs makes them all the more adorable too. Aloysius and Digby are partial to plastic-rimmed glasses, hoodies and the odd Ewok costume. Digby is the star of the show although we have a soft spot for Alo, the young rebel and natural hipster.

This Wild Idea. This may be the Instagram account of photographer and traveller Theron Humphrey, but the real star of the show is Maddie the Coonhound. Perhaps the most patient dog in the world (how many dogs do you know would sit still and balance on a rickety fence while you take a picture? Didn't think so!), she is also rather winsome. As humble as she is tolerant, she travels the length and breadth of America with Humphrey as he photographs their journeys.

Menswear Dog. The most famous Shiba Ina in the world, no doubt. This dapper dog has more style on his left ear than most humans are able to gather in a lifetime. He's collaborated with the likes of American Apparel and Gilt and appeared in many (many) men's mags. His success and fame is no doubt down to his love of street style, his ability to layer clothing and matching it perfectly with snazzy headwear. That fox-like face and gentle disposition helps too.

Labrador Molly. This four-year old beauty is the apple of our eye at Wallpaper* HQ. Owned by our very own travel editor, Lauren Ho, Molly looks and is a picture of calm perfection. Her star trick is balancing things on her head, but mostly - when she isn't chasing squirrels, cats and birds – she likes to eat, sleep, cuddle and eat some more.

Otis Barkington. Anaheim, California's most adorable resident has taken beanie hats and made them his signature. This Boston Terrier is into fashion, but not as much of some of his other #dogsofinstagram buddies. This translates into unusual headgear as opposed to full-on ensembles. He's often caught snoozing and has possibly the biggest puppy dog eyes of all.

Jiff Pom. They say the best things come in small packages, and in the case of Jiff the Pomeranian that is most certainly true. This talented pooch is an actor, model and a Guinness World Record holder (the world's fastest dog on two legs, don't you know). His acting roster varies from appearing in Katy Perry's 'Dark Horse' video to a spot for CoverGirl. His fluffy nature makes his love of dressing up all the more endearing. Almost too cute to be true.

Remix The Dog. Toronto-based Miniature Schnauzer Remix has built a bit of a cult following all his own. No doubt thanks to his playful - and colourful - approach to dressing. Part hipster, part preppy, he likes to pair knitwear with wide-rimmed spectacles. The effect is undeniably adorable.

La Corgi. You can tell Geordi La Corgi is a true LA pup because he has that distinctive Californian ability to dress down. A rare thing in any person, let alone such a distinctive Welsh breed. It isn't all casual chambray shirts and wide pinstripes for this short-legged chap though, he's also fond of bow ties - a look that we rather think suits him.

Logans Look. Another Toronto native, Toy Poodle Logan is the sweetest ginger we've ever laid eyes on. Cute and cuddly, there is something calming and nostalgic about him. Perhaps its the way his curls remind us of the 80s, or the way he looks most at home in decidedly vintage pieces and knits. Either way, he's great. He's the kind of dog you'd take to meet your grandparents, that's for sure.

The Urban Animal Scientist. Technically not a dog (even better, there's many) this Atlanta, Georgia-based design troop create minimalist accessories for man's best friend. Their concrete bowls are well designed and aesthetically pleasing, and their Instagram feed is full of serious characters - from the beautiful Bulldog puppy to rambunctious Great Danes and suave French Bulldogs, too.
