Restaurant Block by Dylan — Helsinki, Finland

Block by Dylan, a new café located in an Art Nouveau building in Helsinki's bustling harbour, is evidence that an appreciation for good design permeates the local sensibility. The restaurant – the fifth in the Dylan mini-franchise of casual eateries opened by Finnish restaurateur Kim Heiniö – has been designed by duo Suvi-Maria Silvola and Laura Seppänen to pair a clean, airy space with the relaxed environs of a casual brunch spot serving generous salads, baked treats and healthful breakfasts. Upscale surfaces of solid oak and marble speak of functionality, and are offset by decorative flourishes such as vividly toned walls and a wooden relief and artwork by graphic artist Jenni Ritamäki. We’d recommend grabbing a specialty coffee and browsing nearby Kauppatori Market Square, conveniently located steps away
