For its new property in Vienna, Le Meridien has opted for a highly theatrical, contemporary feel.
London designers Real Studios decided to make the lobby area a relatively tranquil space, with modern artwork and only occasional splashes of colour, saving the high drama for the bar, which boasts ambient light boxes that change colour throughout the day.
The hotel’s Café Boulevard references the city’s traditional coffee houses, with a contemporary take on parquet flooring, wall panelling and chandeliers. There’s also a well-stocked library with plenty of art books, so guests can swot up on Vienna’s bright young things, whose commissioned work is hung in every one of the 300 hi-tech bedrooms.
