The UK’s first film festival to focus on architecture takes place in the British capital this month. ArchFilmFest London is being held at the ICA and Oxo Tower Wharf’s Bargehouse. The inaugural theme is what the organisers see as the common ground shared between these two interrelated arts: scale. Screenings reflecting this include Peter Weir’s The Truman Show (1998) and Lars von Trier’s Dogville (2003). Other films to catch are Zaha: An Architectural Legacy (2017), Alfred Hitchcock’s Rear Window (1954) and Christopher Nolan’s Inception (2010).

Many of the screenings will be world or UK premieres, and will be followed by director Q&As. Installations, symposia, workshops and an international film competition are also on the agenda. As year’s partnering country, Chile will give a Latin American perspective by showcasing some films from the capital’s own ArqFilmFest. In fact, Manuel Toledo Otaegui, co-organiser of ArqFilmFest Santiago, set up ArchFilmFest alongside London-based architect Charlotte Skene Catling.

ArchFilmFest London runs from 6-11 June. For more information, visit the ArchFilmFest website
