Cassina enlisted Jaime Hayon to interpret Le Corbusier’s organic shapes and esprit nouveau artwork on the 50th anniversary of the architectural master’s death. The Spanish designer delivered a capsule collection of five tabletop objects and two side tables, whose sinuous, playful shapes are rendered in black, stained ash wood. Hayon’s ‘poetic reaction’ to Le Corbusier’s artistic forms combines Cassina’s craftsmanship with his own aesthetics, synthesizing the three in a series of perfectly-formed sculptures. The Italian company’s celebrations will also include a series of cultural events to pay tribute to the iconic LC Collection by Le Corbusier, Pierre Jeanneret and Charlotte Perriand.
