Surreptitiously establishing itself as the name for those in the know on the smartphone scene, HTC – the leading Taiwanese phone manufacturer – has this month affirmed its unflinching commitment to good design as the sponsor of Wallpaper’s Design Awards 2010.
Set to command an impressive presence throughout our steadfastly popular January issue – alongside some extensive coverage- HTC and its dedication to ‘Quietly Brilliant’ design looks set to prove an ideal issue partner for our annual awards.
As an integral element of the partnership, HTC will also be sponsoring Wallpaper’s brand new Reader’s Choice Award - an award which, for the first time, will give our readers the opportunity to vote online for their top item from our shortlist of five pioneering pieces of design.
This years awards – judged by the likes of Fashion legend John Galliano, artist Carsten Holler, architect Steven Holl and soaringly influential Spanish film maker Pedro Almodavar, to name but a few – will condense the most important design developments of the past year into the ultimate selection of the very best the creative world has to offer.
As such, HTC”s ‘Quietly Brilliant’ outlook couldn’t be better placed. With their understated design approach and unflinching dedication to excellence - a few characteristics we like to think that we at Wallpaper* share – HTC will set the Awards streaming into the 21st century’s second decade.
See from Friday 27th for more about the Design Awards and how to vote for your top design item from the Readers Choice Award shortlist.
