Malle Petit Déjeuner Trunk, by Maison Moynat for Yannick Alléno
Michelin-starred chef Yannick Alléno challenged luxury luggage maker Moynat to create a mobile trunk on which to prepare breakfast for two, be it in hotel room, on a terrace or beside the pool. Featuring elm wood, art deco motifs and 5,000 brass studs, the trunk opens up into three double-hinged sections. It is kitted out with a La Cornue burner and twenty or so compartments for cooking utensils, food and linen embroidered with 'Moynat Paris'. Cut, sawn and finished entirely by hand, the trunk will soon serve guests at the One&Only hotel The Palm, Dubai; the Cheval Blanc, Courchevel; the Shangri-La, Beijing; and the Royal Mansour, Marrakech, where Alléno presides over the kitchens.
