Rose Hill
21 May 2019
A new luxury condominium building is about to make its appearance in New York’s NoMad. Rose Hill is a 45-storey tall residential development, spearheaded by the iconic Rockefeller Group. Designed inside and out by CetraRuddy, the project offers a modern interpretation of Art Deco and references the historical developer’s celebrated previous work. The majestic structure is currently under construction, with move-ins scheduled for autumn 2020. Featuring distinctive ornamental external cladding in bronze with chevron detailing, the scheme has large windows, which bring plenty of light into the generous apartments inside; the development offers 123 of them in total, ranging from studio flats to 4 bedroom duplexes.
Meanwhile, three full floors of carefully chosen amenities are sure to enrich the residents’ lifestyle. A health and wellness club includes a 50ft pool, gym and sauna; 24hr concierge services and a communal lounge work towards achieving ultimate comfort for residents; and a dedicated space on the 37th floor stands out for its ‘observatory’ living space and terrace, as well as a dinning area. Vandewater
15 April 2019
Designed by INC Architecture + Design and Michael Van Valkenburgh Associates, Vandewater is the first ground up residential tower in the Morningside Heights neighbourhood of the Upper West Side in New York. It is also the tallest residential building north of Central Park, making this condo complex quite a landmark in the Big Apple’s skyline.
The scheme comprises 33 storeys and features stone as a key building material, as well as a pre-cast facade that mimics limestone. In terms of its design, inside and out, the architects drew from the area’s historical architecture, referencing art deco, neo-gothic and neo-classical elements. Striking views span from the George Washington Bridge, to Hudson River, Central Park, downtown Manhattan and beyond.

611 West 56th Street
15 April 2019
This is Pritzker Prize winning architect Alvaro Siza’s very first US building, which makes this ‘little’ condo quite a big deal. 611 West 56th Street is co-developed by Sumaida + Khurana and LENY - a team known individually for their dedication to contemporary architecture and design; and this project is no exception. Looking towards both Hudson Yards and the glittering skyline of Midtown Manhattan, this tower is slated to start releasing its sales from autumn 2019.
These newly released renders show 611 West 56th Street in all its glory, through the intricate simplicity of its overall volume and the sculptural, white limestone façade. The interiors will be separately developed by Gabellini Sheppard Associates. The offerings span one-, two- and three-bedroom residences, as well as penthouses and duplex maisonettes featuring private terraces and private lift entry. Image: The Boundary

111 Leroy
15 April 2019
Workshop APD is working on 111 Leroy, a development for Property Markets Group in New York’s West Village. The scheme is designed to blend seamlessly ‘into the cobblestoned street with its unique brickwork pattern and varying window design’, explain the architects. Inside, generous, modern interiors have a loft-style feel and span ten levels and nine condominiums, as well as five adjacent single-family townhomes.

Parlour
22 March 2019
These days, Brooklyn is able to rival Manhattan when it comes to ambitious residential projects, and the newest kid on the block is Parlour in Park Slope. Inspired by the district’s townhouse vernacular, the project easily stands out among its peers for its distinguishing geometries. Yet ‘[Parlour] is not a copy of a brownstone, it is the memory of one’, explains its design architect Adam Rolston, of INC Architecture & Design.
The elegant 12-storey high condominium building features eye-catching arched windows and a pale-coloured brick facade. Inside, the structure hosts 19 residences, ranging from two to five bedrooms. Parlour is rooted in the area’s history, but it also includes all-mod-cons and luxuries, such as modern kitchens with an expanded pantry room, soaking tubs and custom cabinetry. A fitness centre and children’s playroom are among the amenities for residents. Image: Binyan Studios
