Shanghai Museum of Glass, by Logon Architects/Coordination Asia

German practice Logon has been feted across the country for its design of the Shanghai Museum of Glass, launched last spring. The museum's unsung location, in an obscure northern reach of the city, and silly acronym (SHMOG) are mitigated by the lofty transformation of this former glass-making workshop, and the dazzling exhibition spaces planned by Tilman Thuermer of Coordination Asia. The 3,500sq m showcase displays delicate decorative works spanning a millennium, with emphasis on contemporary showstoppers and even futuristic applications for space travel. Over the coming months Logon will introduce a veritable village of workshops, in a tangle of defunct buildings behind the site

Milan Men's Fashion Week A/W 2012: grooming trends

Since 8.30pm last night, the Palais d'Iena in Paris has been playing the role of Cinderella. Transformed into The Prada 24Hr Museum, it is an idea that could only be born from a dream team of artist Francesco Vezzoli, Prada and AMO, Rem Koolhaas' think-tank

The scene at the Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie (SIHH) in Geneva, Switzerland, was that of a five-star boutique hotel, with elegant interiors, subdued lighting, champagne bars and fine dining. The intimate event focused on only the top-end watchmakers, most belonging to the Richemont luxury group's stable, including IWC, Ralph Lauren watches, Piaget, Van Cleef & Arpels and Cartier (whose pavilion is pictured here)

Philipp Meuser's two-volume book set, entitled 'Pyongyang: Architectural and Cultural Guide', is an architectural guide to North Korea's capital. Volume 1 is perfect for the suitcase and should pass muster with even the most switched-on border guard. Volume 2, which contains the real meat of the matter, presents a sober analysis of a society paralysed by propaganda, secrecy and insularity. Pictured here from the guide is 'Night view of Kim Il Sung Square'. Click 'next' for more images from the book set

On the market since 2007, Nissan's GT-R has a unique functionalism that, in our eyes, is a perfect visual match for the car's titanic abilities. Facelifted and lightly fettled for both 2011 and 2012, the current GT-R is now in the twilight of its life, but a new model is promised for 2013

A Table, by Sebastian Bergne, London, UK

For 20 years Sebastian Bergne has been quietly designing kitchenware for Tefal, Muji, Swarovski, even Heston Blumenthal. His simple products have been exhibited before, most notably by London’s Design Museum and the MoMA in New York and nearly always behind glass. Bergne’s latest exhibition, ‘A Table’ at London’s Great Western Studios, promises to be different. His new and unseen glassware will accompany some 15 years of work – on a vast tabletop, where it belongs. By day, the designs will form an eye-catching display. But at night, a series of lively, wine-fuelled dinners will take place, where the tableware can be fully appreciated. Book your place now

‘A Table’ runs from 23 February through 8 March at Great Western Studios, 65 Alfred Road, London W2 5EU; http://www.greatwesternstudios.com/

Brands like Pirelli and Lavazza use the calendar as an opportunity to showcase their creative sides, becoming well known in the process for bringing in the photography bigwigs. Pictured here is the 2012 Pirelli Calendar, entitled 'Swoon', which has been photographed this year by Mario Sorrenti

Brands get creative with calendars

In celebration of 20 years producing their calendar, Lavazza has published a commemorative and rather apropos coffee-table tome featuring the greatest (and sexiest) hits of calendars past. Cloth-bound, with the spine quirkily detached from the hardcover, 'Con Te Partiro' is published by Rizzoli and 'curated' by Fabio Novembre, with graphic design by Berlin-based 'Onlab'
