Lot-ek has New York living wrapped up
We were rather taken with Lot-ek’s Container Home Kit, and now the New Yorkers have come up with another intriguing scheme. The loft apartment-style Wrap Building is all concrete slabs, enveloped in aluminium and glass. The ‘wrapping’ is an external perforated skin, or mesh, supported by a kind of scaffolding. So between the glass and the mesh, life can be conducted on balconies and terraces. Lot-ek, yet to start building on Tribeca’s Walker Street, claims the skin will reduce street noise and shade the balconies.
