Look Both Ways by Matt Stuart

British photographer Matt Stuart attempts, in his own words, to capture ‘genuine moments, which hopefully burrow deep into people’s memories’. A noble aspiration, the results of which Stuart will this month showcase for a three-week solo show at London’s KK Outlet.

Armed with little more than a Leica camera and a bucket load of patience, Stuart wanders parks, tube stations and the city streets, waiting for happy visual accidents to cross his path.

Slightly absurd, Stuart’s photographs – which feature everything from a billboard advert interfering with an unwitting passer-by, to a dog at the steering wheel of a car – proffer a fresh take on ‘street photography'.

Opening this week at the London outpost of Amsterdam-based communications agency, KesselsKramer, the KK Outlet will be showcasing Stuart’s ‘Look Both Ways’ exhibition until February 26th. The East London institution – now in its third year - is a multifunctional space, combining an agency, gallery and bookshop.
