Accessories extraordinaire Anya Hindmarch conjures an architectural snow scene for A/W 2017
Featuring concentric runways with hydraulically-powered lifting ceilings and pixel inspired lighting, Anya Hindmarch's imaginative sets are the most anticipated of London Fashion Week. For A/W 2017, the designer's folkloric collection was seen through her idiosyncratically architectural lens, with a snow scene-like set, imagined in angular geometric forms.
‘We wanted to make a really architectural version of a mountain using these lovely fragmented shapes,’ Hindmarch explains of the ascending runway set, created once more with production studio INCA. Models navigated a gently rising slope, peppered with geometric snow, before reaching the summit of the set, where a pyramid was illuminated in blues and pinks. Two metal clouds imagined in skeleton forms were also suspended from the ceiling. ‘I wanted the set to reflect this idea of a little girl going up a mountain and it getting a bit scary and stormy before she comes down again,’ she added. ‘The architectural interpretation kept it really clean, and let the product do the talking.’
