Rawduck — London, UK

Following what's become a rite of passage for most successful restaurants in the capital, popular Soho establishment, Ducksoup, has opened up a sibling eatery called Rawduck in Hackney. Not so much a restaurant as an all-day café (with a liquor license) the space is uncomplicated, showcasing stripped wood, brushed metal furnishings and concrete lampshades. The wall behind the counter is a large blackboard offering a daily menu of unfussy fare, from boiled eggs and soldiers to the Reuben sandwich featuring wasabi mayonnaise, raw chopped beef, shaved radish, sriracha and parmesan. The vast wine selection - either organic or bio-dynamic - is a mandatory (for us at least) accompaniment to your evening meal.
