Le Frank — Paris, France
Named after the building’s creator architect Frank Gehry, Le Frank, the restaurant in la Fondation Louis Vuitton – Paris’ new art museum and cultural centre – is the epitome of French chic. With views over the 20-hectare Jardin d’Acclimation, the restaurant’s neutral grey leather and walnut and slate interior by designer Jean-Michel Wilmotte avoids airport-lounge impersonality with Gehry’s suspended Fish installation. Colour, is reserved for the cuisine, where Michelin-starred chef Jean-Louis Nomico serves up a Mediterranean lunch and dinner menu with emphasis on fish and fresh vegetables. The carpaccio of dorade, marinated in citrus caviar and piment d’Espelette is fit to be framed in the adjacent gallery, while deserts and ice-creams are created by World Pastry Champion, Emmanuel Ryon.
