Isabel Marant S/S 2016
Mood board: No matter what she does, French designer Isabel Marant’s fingers remain fixed on the pulse of the street. This season she delivered a rapper’s delight of urban-friendly parachute trousers mixed up with the heavy, carpet-like textiles one finds in the spicy markets of Moroccan.
Best in show: Stripes are shaping up to be big for fall and Marant’s take on the theme worked beautifully in her thick, exotic textiles. Oversized, cinch-waist striped pants looked great with floaty nylon anoraks while striped kaftans came dusted with minimal embroidered edges for easy-going day to evening wear.
Finishing touches: Marant pulled out the ropes for her coveted footwear, lacing up flat or high block heeled sandals with acres of thick, naval-esque rope.
