E Tautz A/W 2015
Mood board: With an overwhelmingly grey collection, Patrick Grant presented us with an ode to the Northern towns where he spent his formative years. The insouciant gait of his models, hands in pockets, was a reflection of the towns' inhabitants, milling about in old-fashioned wardrobes perhaps, but to the sounds of youth culture.
Best in show: Grant played with proportion by layering cropped jumpers with wide-ribbed waists underneath long car coats, short jackets and blazers. Worn with high-waisted, oversized trousers, it created a stern look, not to be mistaken for austerity but rather breathing warmth and comfort.
Finishing touches: The roomy coats and wide-legged suits were finished off with clog-inspired shoes, all wooden soles and nails. It was the red colour of these soles that betrayed the involvement of Christian Louboutin - an unlikely pairing in this picture of confident masculinity.
