For his burgeoning accessories collection, Andrea Incontri debuted like a seasoned pro. In fact, his presentation in Florence's Odeon during Pitti Immagine was more inspired and creatively conceived than the majority of shows we saw during this round of menswear.
Viewers, who sat in the retro theatre's lush, reclining velvet chairs, were first treated to a film titled 'Waiting Room', directed by Yuri Ancarani.

Art directed by the fashion designer himself, the beautifully-shot but dialogue-less film featured moody characters going about their daily life in Milan (much of which included waiting in traffic or for slow doormen), while carrying or folding up Incontri's simple handbags.
The clear but gritty texture to the film recalled the arresting cinematic quality of Luca Guadagnino's 'I am love'. The exceptional casting of the film was then reproduced for a live fashion presentation that read more like an arty installation of live figures who moved around the seated audience like robots.
The spectacle was a refreshing and successful effort by a talent worth watching.
