The Club Room at Bob Bob Ricard — London, UK
Opened in 2008, Bob Bob Ricard is already a Soho institution. Building on that success, owner Leonid Shutov wanted to create a new space that would have the 'class and sophistication of old-school dining clubs - but without the need for membership'. Launched this month, the intimate Club Room bar is just that. Open only during the evening, it offers the full restaurant menu, serving both English and Russian cuisine on top of an extensive wine list. Located on the lower ground, the bar seats 74, with booths (each with the notorious 'Press for Champagne' button) surrounding the focal point: a mahogany floor inlaid with a striking backgammon design. Though faithful to the opulence of the original David Collins interior, the new space emphasises bold reds and burgundies, complementing the cool blues of the main restaurant.
