Six Senses Kaplankaya — Bodrum, Turkey
With the paint barely dry on its two new properties in Singapore, the Six Senses Group has just opened a new beach-front property in Bodrum.
A brisk 10-minute helicopter ride north of the airport, the 141-room is set in a starkly gorgeous inlet that’s framed with hills cloaked with cypresses and olive trees. New York-based studio Clodagh has furnished the interiors with a quiet mix of white marble for the bathrooms, blonde timber flooring and armchairs, and capacious white outdoor sofa lounges set under slatted overhangs.
The brand’s unusual commitment to wellness is shown off to best effect at the 10,000 sqm spa. In addition to an anti-aging clinic, a physical assessment centre that harnesses NASA technology, and a polygonal outdoor swimming pool overlooking the ever-present Aegean, the main complex features an indoor lap pool crowned by a corona of timber slats, Watsu pool, crystal steam room, salt grotto and, of all things, an igloo.
