Sofitel Paris Le Faubourg hotel review - Paris, France
With a near faultless location just minutes from the Grand Palais Galleries and Place de la Concord, hotel brand Sofitel’s newest Paris outpost is discretely housed in a pair of townhouses previously occupied by the Queen of Naples. Designed by local architect Didier Gomez, a skylight bathes the entrance lobby with daylight, while grey stone walls with gold leaf detailing add modernity and warmth to public spaces. Upstairs, the 147 guestrooms and suites continue the plush narrative with materials such as satin and velvet and furnishings including Louis XV-style armchairs. At the end of a long day meandering through the neighbourhood’s upscale boutiques, head to the spa for a personalised treatment, or have a bite to eat in chef Yannick Alleno’s restaurant, where a ‘patisserie library’ allows diners to add their own twist to the kitchen’s high-wire desserts.
