London Design Festival 2017 preview
Summer may be winding down in London, but things in the British capital are just hotting up. The London Design Festival (16-24 September) is set to kick off this week, with galleries, museums and studios in all corners of the metropolis poised for action. This year – in addition to popular staples like the Landmark projects and V&A installations – the festival is upping the ante, introducing Mayfair as the newest bustling design hub, as well as the inaugural Design Frontiers exhibition at Somerset House. Working in collaboration with Conran + Partners, Amsterdam-based food designer Ido Garini of Studio Appétit is bringing an all-singing project to King’s Cross restaurant German Gymnasium. There, a food and design extravaganza will include a Bauhaus-inspired installation and tastings running throughout the London Design Festival.
