Salvatore Ferragamo S/S 2015
Fancy footwear at Ferragamo is no big surprise. But, this season, creative director Massimiliano Giornetti outdid himself with the ultimate summer sandal. Constructed like a woven leather huarache, the two-toned mandals featured cork sandwich soles, enormous fringe fronts and leather bow ties. The casual footwear - worn with no socks, naturally - swiftly lopped several degrees of formality off the clothes, which were perfect specimens of summer tidiness. Pressed, pleated shorts were worn with boxy jackets with neat collars, while the suits were mixed and matched with subtly patterned separate pants and jackets or billowing trenches. Best of all was the tranquil palette of ash blue, soft brick and shades of buttery oatmeal.
