Maurice Broomfield was one of the pioneers of documentary photography, imbibing the post-war boom in British industry with a heroic sheen thanks to his combination of starkly abstract black-and-white images and rich, modern colour. Broomfield (father of documentary and filmmaker Nick) helped shape the image of 'white heat' era Britain, when the country led the world in both manufacturing and innovation.

This splendid boxed monograph of Broomfield's industrial imagery has been designed by Daniel Baer and comes complete with a silver gelatin print. The perfect throwback to an era when care, craft and meticulous attention to detail was part and parcel of everyday life.
