Taking up where Fives left off, Clement is the Peninsula New York’s latest addition, serving up contemporary fare in a range of private and semi-private dining rooms and bars. The space has been conceived by design firm Yabu Pushelberg to emulate a swish New York home, with artworks specially commissioned for specific areas: an installation of hand-thrown pottery by Montreal-based artist Pascale Girardin inhabits the restaurant’s reception, while one dining room features textural walls by interiors artist Deborah Moss that resemble rows of book spines. In the lavish yet relaxed environs, power-lunchers and celebratory diners can partake in the northeastern fare, like lobster with kabocha squash and chanterelles or porcelet adorned with honeycrisp apples and chestnuts.
