The Ivy Market Grill — London, UK
The illustrious portfolio of Caprice Holdings continues to swell with the addition of The Ivy Market Grill in Covent Garden. In many ways the convivial all-day café and eaterie plays ‘little sister’ to the infamous Ivy restaurant just around the corner, but it has nevertheless firmly established it’s own personality. Interiors by local firm Martin Brudnizki Design Studio look to the 19th century industrial age for inspiration; the result is a seamless mash-up of hexagonal mosaiced floors, antique brass chandeliers and leather upholstery. The two-level venue is divided into five areas — including a terrace — from which patrons can enjoy Sean Burbidge’s menu of international dishes and modern British comfort food. It’s all topped off by an impressive pewter bar, offering a creative selection of cocktails made with the restaurant’s very own gin and champagne.
