Barraca — Barcelona, Spain
Under the guardianship of double-Michelin starred chef Xavier Pellicer, Barraca, a restaurant focusing on traditional Spanish rice recipes, has opened in Barceloneta, the Med-fronted beach district of Barcelona. Owner Guido Weinberg, known for championing the use of sustainable and ethical foods in Spain, thought: who best to head the kitchen than Pellicer, with the Michelin stars and stints at Can Fabes and Àbac. The space references its coastal location with driftwood tones, diners sitting on Wegner's iconic Wishbone chairs, and glass and tableware in rich colours ranging from swordfish green to deep indigo.
