Les Sources de Caudalie — Bordeaux, France

Caudalie was revamped by elusive fashion designer Martin Margiela back in 2010 as a stylish hideaway, and now its legendary suite ‘L’Ile aux Oiseaux’ has been given a makeover by French fashion designer Maxime Simoëns. Known for creating minimal yet structured looks, Simoëns used the barcode as his main graphic influence: black and white in the corridors and bathroom, transposed onto lampshades and adapted to shape the mirrors. Yet the design also pays tribute, in green and blue, to the surrounding marshlands. Staged around an immaculate sofa by celebrated Italian designer Pietro Arosio for Silvera, the main living space evokes the outdoors, complete with stuffed white pigeons overlooking the room from a set of branches.
