Best Business Hotels: the winners
Back in May we published Wallpaper* and Fortune magazine’s shortlist of the best refurbished and new business hotels on the planet. Now our judges have whittled the 50 down to ten, including two overall winners.
Joint Winner: The Four Seasons, Florence
A Renaissance masterpiece
Take a look inside our joint winner, the Four Seasons, Florence
Described as ’extraordinary’ by our judges, the Four Seasons is steeped in history and brimming with original frescoes, bas-reliefs, stucco finishes and hand-painted silk wallpapers. Housed in a former 16th-century convent and a 15th-century palazzo, each of its 116 guest rooms and suites (the Noble Suite
is pictured) blends high-tech modern comforts with ancient charm and Renaissance art, and no two are the same. But what really steals the show are the 4.5 hectares of botanical gardens.
Joint Winner: The Park Hyatt, Shanghai
The highest levels of style and service

’Park Hyatt sets the bar in Asia in terms of style, luxury, service, food and beverages,’ says judge Elizabeth Blau. Dramatically perched near the top of one of the world’s highest buildings, the hotel has a stunning lobby overlooking Shanghai. Inspired by traditional Chinese geometry and architecture, New York-based designer Tony Chi has created a modern residence in earthy
tones and natural materials. We love the high-ceilinged 100 Century Avenue restaurant, featuring art installations, live jazz and views to die for.
