New York Design Week 2018 preview
Although following hot on the heels of Salone del Mobile on the design calendar, NYCxDesign (11–23 May) has stayed the course to become a vibrant, inspiring showcase of American design and creativity. This year’s iteration is set to be especially dynamic with a slew of independent designers and collectives debuting new wares on their own terms and turf. Even the behemoth International Contemporary Furniture Fair, the week’s original anchor, has shaken things up this year. Here are some of the highlights in store for the week. Writer: Pei-ru Keh
Despite being just over a year old, the young furniture brand Radnor has reached for great heights with its NYCxDesign week debut. Taking over a two-bedroom apartment in The Bryant, a David Chipperfield Architects-designed condominium overlooking Bryant Park, Radnor has collaborated with Workstead to create an enviable installation for the launch of the Radnor Made Collection, which features textiles and furniture designed by Bunn Studio and Adam Rogers. In addition the exhibition will also include new works from Radnor-represented designers, such as Egg Collective, PELLE, Marie Eklund, Julianne Ahn, Workstead and OYYO Studio.
By appointment; 2 May – 30 June; 16 West 40th Street; www.radnor.co
